What area’s should be insulated?
In Europe we have all got very conscious of our heating and energy costs so we want to insulate however most insulation contractors will recommend insulating the walls of your home which is a great thing to do however only 18% of the heat is lost through the walls and an astonishing 45% through the roof due to heat rising. So we recommend on existing buildings having the attic space insulated and maybe looking at the walls if no insulation is present at all.
How will the roof breath? Timber must breath!
Depending on the structure we insulate we determine the best product for that area. For example tar felt in an existing home can conduct moisture it is important in that case to seal the attic from air and moisture to prevent dry rot and heat loss. Our open cell product is 92% breathable and allows the structure to contract while our closed seals the home air tight not allowing any air or moisture filtrate.
Will rodents or insects eat the foam?
All food content is removed from the product and mixed to defend your home from all insects and rodents.
